Flight systems cover the controls, wing mechanisms, and connecting links. Together they help pilots steer the plane in the preferred direction and maintain the desired speed. This has come a long way since the early days of aviation. There are mechanical, hydro-mechanical, and fly-by-wire control systems. They can be separated into primary and secondary controls. Students will have to master all of these through theoretical discussions and computer simulations before they can be allowed to handle the real thing.
The primary controls include the center stick which is responsible for adjusting the roll and pitch through aileron and elevator movement. There’s also the rudder pedals which manage the rudder. There are also throttle controls which are focused on the engine. Each of these will vary greatly from one aircraft to another. That’s why specific training is required for each class.
