The Internet is a worldwide computer network with public access, currently representing the main means of mass communication. It gives the user a wide range of informative content and services. It is an interconnection between global computer networks of different nature and extent, made possible by a common network protocol suite known as TCP/IP (Network Management System).
These form the language with which Internet hosts communicate with each other regardless of their hardware and software architecture. This ensures interoperability between systems and different physical subnets for the network.
The advent and spread of the Internet and its services have been a real sociological and technological revolution since the beginning of the 90’s (along with other inventions such as mobile phones and GPS). In addition to being engines of economic development in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and beyond.
