Even though the medical establishment hasn’t classified Morgellons as a disease, MD’s and GP’s has classified to types of patients and their related treatments.
Type one is when the MD or GP considers it to be a fungal or bacterial infection and treats it with a strict course of antibiotic regimes.
The second is a bit more complicated as it is when the MD or GP thinks it is psychosomatic and all in the patient’s head, so to speak.
Here that patient gets referred to a psychologist or psychiatrist for evaluation and gets treated as per any other psychological problem.
The reasoning behind these types of treatments and the cases itself is based on the fact that no matter how many cases have been reported the medical establishment still hasn’t classified or recognized it as a real disease.
