For many visitors, Prague entertainment means enjoying one of the many classical music recitals throughout the city, in venues ranging from concert halls to small churches. Prague also has a thriving contemporary music scene, and is one of the best cities in Europe to enjoy live jazz. Prague has several theatres, including the prestigious National Theatre, which helpfully provides explanations in English for its performances. There are two main opera venues in the city, both of which show mainly the better known Italian works. Prague is also known for its many pubs serving some of the best beer in the world; they range from noisy student hangouts to quitter and more relaxed establishments and make for an inexpensive evening out. Tickets to most of the live entertainment in Prague can be purchased online ahead of time, or from several outlets throughout the city.
