LATEST ON BYRON BAY LINEN

Byron Bay Linen, William Shakespeare and Pawno chief Paul Ireland will plan to bring a full proportion of show, style and social haul to the Red Carpet Opening Night of the Byron Bay Film Festival one month from now.

The group of spectators will be wowed by Ireland’s reimaging of Measure for Measure, raised to date and set in Melbourne’s dirty underbelly, where ice, bad habit and between racial contentions make for a strained urban scene.

Weaving’s Duke, as powerful Capo, must make himself rare for some time, the cutting edge turn being the move is incited by a bigot shock by one of his lieutenant’s ice-confused clients.

Measure for Measure (or M4M) was a characteristic decision for Opening Night movie, said celebration executive J’aimee Skippon-Volke.

“It’s an ideal film to get everybody in the mind-set, both for the gathering a short time later and the 10 days of celebration following.”
