Some Golf Chipping Tips

Chipping is an important part of any golfer’s short game. Here are some golf chipping tips:

• When shooting a standard chip shot you should strike the ball with the club in a generally upright position. That is, with the hands not too far behind or ahead of the club head at impact.

• Choke the club when chipping. That is hold your club as for a standard swing then move your hands down the club length closer to the ball (about 3 to 4 inches should be adequate). This gives you more control over the ball during the shot

• Find your best chip club. Most golfers use pitching sand wedge and this might be right for you as well. However you might find that you can chip better with a different iron so try out a few others and see what is the most effective for you.
