Asbestos Disposal in London is handled by the city’s Hazardous Waste Collection and Disposal Service (HWCDS). The HWCDS arranges collection of bonded asbestos and building rubble for residents 
who pay council tax on the property where the asbestos is being removed from. Proof of council tax payments must be submitted when arranging for asbestos collection.
This service is only for the collection of wrapped asbestos. The HWCDS does not provide testing or surveys and it does not dismantle the asbestos. They also do not provide a wrapping service.
When removing the asbestos sheets it is recommended that you wear safety glasses and a dust mask and you dampen the asbestos with a spray of water before removing it. When arranging for collection, you can phone the HWCDS and notify them of the size of the asbestos you want disposed of and your address.
