In order for muscle growth to occur, your body needs fuel in the form of proper nutrition and restful sleep. If either of these is lacking, then your body won’t have the energy necessary for building new muscles. Another issue could be due to lack of exercise variation – if all you ever do is lift weights, then progress may slow down or even stop altogether as your muscles become accustomed to the same movements each time.
