A Buyer’s Guide For Structural Insulated Panels

Structural insulated panels, also known as the structural insulated board, are a type of non-slip composite panel frequently used in the building industry to prevent or mitigate the adverse effects caused by thermal exposure. This type of panel is made of a material which is in between thermally conductive materials and insulating materials like foam, fiberglass, metal, laminate, etc. and is used in many applications, including attic insulation, wall insulation, underfloor heating, cold service pipe, and ductwork, and vapor barriers and fire doors. These panels have numerous advantages over other materials like drywall, fiberglass, and wood framing because they can resist heat, flame, moisture and are fire-resistant. They are also very strong and sturdy and can carry a heavy load of either heat or cold. They are cost-effective when compared to other alternative materials for their functions and are available in both rolled and pitched types.
