When it comes to desserts, few treats can match the taste and the decadence of a lovingly baked cheesecake. The mixture of sweet and savory flavors explodes in your mouth with every bite. It is no wonder that millions love this delightful creation. Many indulge in a slice or two on special occasions. Some have one almost every single day. The Cheesecake Factory certainly offers plenty of options to make the experience something to look forward to. This restaurant has quite a following around the US where it originated and other places around the world. Let’s look at its history, menu and more.

A Brief History

The company launched its first restaurant in 1978. It was located in Beverly Hills which was already developing a reputation for being a posh neighborhood at the time. The locals loved the place and the food. Alter all, they got large portion sizes, a cool menu, and delicious cheesecakes. The founder, Evelyn Overton, was inspired to create the restaurant after making a cheesecake for her husband’s boss. It wasn’t her first try. The first shop was opened in 1950 but was eventually closed as she focused on raising her family. She still baked and sold goods part-time, though, so her recipes continued to be refined.

The business continued to grow. Her sons began to help around, especially when they were ready to expand to other locations. Several locations around California were opened throughout the 80s. In the following decade, they were able to expand beyond the state’s borders into Washington, Florida, and other regions. The company went public and they continued to climb the ladder in the restaurant business. International branches began to sprout as foreign investors became interested in the brand. Now there are several in the Caribbean, the Middle East, Central America, East Asia, and many more.

The Menu

Their menu has often been described as eclectic. It was initially just a one-page menu composed purely of cheesecakes that people could take home with them. This evolved into a multi-page menu that contained not only desserts but also an assortment of appetizers, snacks, salads, pizza, pastas, sandwiches, steaks, breakfast and beverages. They have also begun to offer catering at selected branches. There are over 250 dishes available wish each of them made fresh every day to ensure quality and fine taste. While many of their offerings tend to have high caloric content, they also have healthier options in their Skinnylicious menu.

The Experience

Dining at the restaurant is a pretty good experience if you look at the reviews and see the customers. This is also evident in the way that expansion has progressed throughout the decades in a fairly steady fashion. There are now over 200 locations employing more than thirty thousand workers and amassing over $2 billion in annual revenues. The Cheesecake Factory prices are reasonable given the massive portions that could easily feed several people. The original cakes remain on offer along with new creations that are winning their own fans.
