Sprouts are good for you – they are high in antioxidants, vitamins and fiber and can help to lower blood sugar levels and fight inflammation. Growing sprouts at home is easier than you might think and doesn’t require much space or special equipment. In fact, you can easily grow sprouts on your kitchen counter; you’ll need a half gallon size jar, some cheesecloth and a rubber band as well as the sprouting seeds. If you want to grow in bulk, a sprouting tray is designed to grow more of them at a time. Other than the various health benefits, another advantage of growing sprouts in your own home is that they grow very quickly, within a few days. It also costs next to nothing to obtain the equipment and once you have planted them, watering every day for a few days is all that is needed.
