Looking at dog bite statistics around the United States can be a little alarming for people who are on the edge. That is because dog bites are probably more prevalent than anyone wants to admit. Even though they are prevalent, there are ways to avoid the situation if it all possible.
When a person comes across a dog in public, they need to make sure that they ask the owner exactly what type of behavior they have. Even though it can be very tempting to pet every single dog that goes by, so might not be wanting to get petted at that time.
It is also important to just realize in general that dogs can sometimes get a little aggressive and start biting. It is something they usually do out of defense, although if they are overwhelmed a little bit, they might do it just because they are having fun.
