Tests for firefighters consist of four components: a video-based human relations test, a math test, a mechanical aptitude test, and a reading ability test. Also, a firefighter must pass a physical ability test. The physical ability test includes the following events: hose drag, stair climb, ladder raise and extension, search, rescue, ceiling breach, and pull.
