Do you want to get a special card printed for your company? Most visiting cards are printed on stock cards using digital printers. While they serve the purpose, this printing technology cannot provide the same quality of color provided by silk screen printing. Apart from this, they can only create an illusion of embossing by mixing shades of light and deep colors. In screen printing, a piece of fine nylon cloth, stretched on a frame, is first coated with a layer of light sensitive (monochromatic) chemical.
The process
The printer coats a a polyester film, containing the reverse image of the business card on top of the chemical layer, and exposes it to bright light, causing changes to the exposed area of the chemical. The screen is then washed following which the printer places a card beneath the screen and spreads ink on the other side of the screen with a squezee causing the ink to deposit on the card. You can check the process and get a unique card printed by contacting a printer who undertakes screen printing in Perth.
