Organic Suppliers need certification to be able to trade.
The main reason that suppliers of organic products require certification is due to the high demand for organic foods. Certification is there to prevent fraud and to assure the quality of the products being sold. In the beginning, you did not need to be certified, but now that organic products are being sold in supermarkets, there needs to be a plan in place to regulate what products are truly organic and which are not.
For producers, certification shows that their products are approved and for customers, they know that they are buying true organic produce.
Certification is there to regulate and facilitate the sale of all organic produce to consumers.
So, if you are one of many people who prefer to buy only organic foods, be sure to check that the foods you choose have a “certified organic” sticker on them.
