There are plenty of products to help you sleep, including some natural ones such as melatonin. Some of these shouldn’t be used for more than a few weeks or months, although others are safe to use permanently. While these products are useful, it’s also a good idea to try to identify the underlying reasons why you are having difficulty sleeping. Alcohol too close to bedtime, or too much rich or spicy food can make it a challenge to fall asleep, as can various medication and some medical conditions. If you work different shifts you may have difficulty sleeping and if you sleep in late at the weekend, it can make it hard to get up on Monday morning. Even the colour of your bedroom may be the reason why you need a sleep product; your room should be a relaxing shade such as light blue or grey.
