Pipet tips are attachments that are used for picking up and dispensing liquid via a micropipette (a very fine pipette that’s used to measure, transfer, or inject a small quantity of liquid). Today these are used in the research and diagnostics that are conducted within many laboratories.
To use a pipette you need to first know how much volume you need so you can set it on the pipette. From there you’ll want to depress the plunger and immerse the pipet’s tip to the correct depth. This is something that’ll vary depending on the pipet and the type of tip you’re using. Now it’s simply a matter of waiting for the liquid to flow into the tip.
After using the tip of a pipet you can dispose of it but since it’s made of polypropylene you can also reuse them several times.
