Sustainable Global Development Goals

The Sustainable Global Development Goals are intended to be a blueprint for a better and sustainable future for humanity. The SDGs were initially created as a framework in which world leaders could collectively work towards achieving development goals. However, it was soon realized that these were too ambitious targets to expect nations to meet realistically. This realization prompted the formation of the Sustainable Development Goals to provide a realistic set of development goals that can be successfully met. Also, many political organizations have since been added to the list to include individuals from different sectors of society such as governments, businesses, civil society, and individuals. The SDG process now has a larger set of organizations and individuals participating in its implementation.

Although there have been several reports and research works on sustainable development, only some of them have provided enough information on the process and the validity of the SDGs. The reason for this is that the formation of the goals requires an international community consensus. Any research and studies on sustainable development must first go through the relevant political processes before providing sufficient information for a broader audience.
