The Cyber Security Automation initiative develops an enterprise-level solution for security systems. Cyber Security Automation is a concept that integrates systems and network resources to monitor, prevent, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities in the enterprise. These include but are not limited to application testing, network scanning, software verification, and response management. The project’s basic idea was to build a complete security suite that would be used to protect infrastructure from security threats and enable easy access and deployment of custom-built components.
The need for Cyber Security Automation has grown tremendously as companies find it cost-effective and reliable to automate their business based on information that is usually stored on the company’s computers. Using such applications as Intrusion Detection System (IDS), firewalls, application security and software updates, network security, and identity management can greatly help increase a company’s ability to defend itself against external threats and improve the security of internal networks.
