Only a few years after its invention, the glue for varicose veins has become an indispensable tool for clinicians. Doctors are now using the medical ‘super glue’ to treat cramps, itching, aesthetic defects, and swelling of the limbs among other defects. Even more interesting is the simplicity and reliability of the treatment procedure.
To use the glue, a small line is made through which the fluid is deposited to the affected vein. This is unlike in the past where multiple injections of the glue were made. Action is immediate where flow through the vein is permanently blocked. Patients can then walk out and resume normal duties without the need to wear compression stockings.
Medical glue has a closure rate of more than 98 percent, making it one of the most effective. Additionally, the treatment carries less than one percent risk of a clot forming at the end.
