Ferene disodium salt is chromogenic agent used as an iron colorimetric reagent. It is more sensitive than other reagents such as ferrozine.
Its appearance is of a yellow powder. This salt should be stored in sealed packaging at normal room temperature. Ideally, it should be protected from light and placed in a cool, dry place. You are also advised to avoid moisture absorption.
Ferene is used in a wide array of products and areas, such as in pharmaceutical companies, food and flavors, electronics, health care, and home and personal care.
Ferene should be handled with care. It can cause skin irritation and corrosion. You should avoid breathing its dust because it may cause irritation in the respiratory system. It it comes in contact with your eyes, rinse them with abundant water, cautiously, for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if you wear them, and continue rinsing. It can cause severe eye damage and irritation.
