Avocados are rich in vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients and unsaturated fats, so this top guacamole recipe also packs a healthy punch.
Main ingredient:
2 large, fully-ripe avocados, with skin and stones removed
Other ingredients:
1 white onion, finely chopped
1 red or green chilli pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 firm large tomato, finely chopped
Handful coriander (leaves and stalks), finely chopped
Juice from 1 lime
1/8 spoon finely-ground black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp salt
(Optional) Pinch of sugar
Directions:
- Place avocados in bowl and mash to a creamy consistency
- Add lime juice, black pepper, cayenne pepper, salt and sugar (if using sugar) and stir well (for approx. 6-8 seconds)
- Scoop in the onions, chilli pepper, garlic, coriander and tomato and stir lightly to coat and incorporate (for approx. 8-10 seconds).
You can serve this top guacamole dish with crunchy corn tortillas or with your favorite meat in a soft flatbread wrap.
