Organic Suppliers and Organic food retailers can be found throughout the country, with many having websites and a large number of individual operators who farm and market organically selected products locally. Many small family farms now supply organic meat, and poultry, fruit, and vegetables, and smaller but more established organic food suppliers have started to venture into the organic trade. There are also larger organic trade operators that supply to the larger communities, such as schools and universities. Many of these larger suppliers will have achieved their organic certification from an organic trade organization.
Organic traders provide a very valuable service to consumers, as they make it possible for people to buy local produce directly from growers. Organic growers often do not use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, which is a key factor in reducing the risks associated with chemical fertilizers.
